BSc (Hons) Ost Med, DO, ND.
Marie gained her degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in North London and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. As a registered Osteopath she undertakes regular courses in areas of interest as part of continued professional development (CPD).
With over 20 years of experience of treating patients of all ages, from all walks of life and with all manner of problems with the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues) Marie is as comfortable using direct mechanical osteopathic manipulations as she is using more gentle and subtle techniques along with cranial osteopathic techniques. She is also qualified in dry needling techniques.
In 2006 Marie set up and ran the first local authority pilot osteopathy scheme in the country where she spent time treating injuries of workers in the care sector as well as looking at injury prevention. This led to training in ergonomics and work place management of musculoskeletal pain.
Marie's heart has always been in the clinic setting where she enjoys working one to one with people. This is where she now spends all of her working week. She works closely with patients to help restore health and wellbeing using a range of osteopathic techniques, exercise prescription and self management strategies. To date her youngest patient was 5 days old and her eldest 96.
Marie works with all conditions including back and neck pain, headaches, repetitive strain injuries, sports injuries, whiplash injuries and osteoarthritis including helping patients pre and post joint replacement surgery.
